AuditionU.com is a brand new website portal that matches high school musicians with college scholarships and opportinies (think Match.com for musicians and colleges).

The Problem

AuditionU was a brand new company with the need to grow their user base on both sides of the portal (high school students and Universities), while at the same time get to a cash flow positive position fast.

The Solution

Over the course of 5 months Matchnode created a multi-channel campaign to target both students and universities implementing:

  • Completely separate onboarding funnels tailoring the experience to each type of user and tracking their success in Google Analytics.
  • Custom Facebook Tabs for the AuditionU Facebook page.
  • A LinkedIn campaign targeting university faculty.
  • Used Facebook interest targeting to reach students interested in musicianship.
  • Successfully instituted a pay wall on the University side of the portal by marketing the site as, “Free to all Students!”
  • A Salesforce.com email campaign to build records of every college in the country.
  • Retargeting campaigns on banner networks, FBX and Twitter to “catch,” users that didn’t initially sign up.

The Result

By the end of our engagement AuditionU had added over 4,000 students to their network and had sold enough university memberships to reach a cash flow positive position.
